Legacy and Bequest

There are many ways to plan your giving, leaving your legacy to a family in-need of affordable homeownership is one that will fulfill your family and another in your community.

Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds

Donating appreciated securities – such as stocks or mutual funds – to GAHH, is a tax-wise approach to changing lives through homeownership.

NM State Tax Credit

Make a gift of $1,000 or more and designate it to new construction, and you will receive a credit voucher for 50% of the value of your gift.

Our Land Fund

GAHH has a land bank in Bernalillo County to ensure that we have building sites available for the future. Donate land in Bernalillo and now, Southern Sandoval Counties.

Lunch Box Builders

Being a Lunchbox Builder is a great opportunity for families, schools, churches, businesses and civic groups to give back to those that do the heavy lifting.

Cars for Homes

Old vehicles gain new life when you donate them to Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanities Cars for Homes program. For additional information, email us today.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you're retired and have an IRA, there's a smart way to give that lowers your taxable income while satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). It's called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

What Is a QCD?

A QCD is a direct transfer of money from your IRA to a qualifying nonprofit, like GAHH. Instead of taking the money out yourself (which adds to your taxable income), the funds go straight to us, tax-free.

Key benefits:

  • Lowers your taxable income - the money never counts as income on your tax return
  • Counts toward your RMD - the amount you're required to withdraw from your IRA each year starting at age 73
  • Makes an immediate impact - the nonprofit receives the funds quickly
