Home Repair Programs

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity provides home repair assistance to help qualified homeowners maintain safe, secure, and livable homes. Our repair programs are designed to address both minor home preservation needs and larger critical system repairs or replacements.

These programs serve qualifying homeowners, including seniors, veterans, low-income families, and people with disabilities.

Depending on the type and extent of repairs needed, homeowners may qualify for assistance through our Home Preservation Program or Critical Systems Replacement Program.

    • Furnaces
    • Water heaters
    • Coolers
    • Other qualifying major home repair needs

The Critical Systems Replacement Program is intended primarily to help low-income seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities remain safely and securely in their homes.

All Critical Systems Replacement work is completed by licensed contractors under the direct oversight of Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity’s Program Manager.

Which Program Is Right for Me?

The appropriate program depends on the type of repair your home needs.

Home Preservation generally focuses on smaller repairs, exterior maintenance, accessibility improvements, and projects that address minor safety concerns.

Critical Systems Replacement focuses on larger repairs or replacements involving essential systems within the home.

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity will review each homeowner’s needs and qualifications to determine what assistance may be available.

Important Program Information

Our home repair programs are not emergency repair programs. Homeowners must complete the qualification and approval process before any work can begin.

There may also be a waiting period before approved repairs can be scheduled.

All repairs and services are dependent upon application approval and available funding.
