The Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is seeking a ReStore Supervisor

Position Summary:

The ReStore Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of the ReStore staff and volunteers and generating revenue through the sale of donated and reclaimed building materials and supplies to support the programs and operations of Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity International. The ReStore Supervisor will report to the ReStore Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with volunteers, donors, community service organizations, suppliers, and staff. Ensure involvement in recycling efforts.
  • Assists the ReStore Director in the Development and execution of the ReStore Action Plan with goals that meet budgeted targets and generate revenue in support of daily operations and enabling more donation dollars to be directed to build homes in accordance with our Mission and Vision.
  • Adheres to processes for procuring product donations and maintains appropriate merchandise levels to drive sales.
  • Enforces Pricing/Merchandising and Inventory control strategies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives for the ReStore and affiliates.
  • Assists in the hiring, training, and direct activities of the ReStore staff; provide support, guidance, and encouragement to staff and volunteers.
  • Support and adhere to and maintain proper safety standards in the workplace. Prepare safety and accident / incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of facility, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Assist with the monthly reporting of sales activities, expenses, budgeting and progress on current and prospective projects, including upcoming public relations activities.

Qualifications:

AA degree plus 3 years retail management and supervisory exp. Knowledge of construction and/or building materials helpful., Basic computer skills, basic cash management and accounting skills, effective communication and writing skills, must be organized and flexible, able to supervise staff and volunteers with a wide range of skills and abilities, able to adapt to constantly changing environment, possess strong critical thinking, problem- solving and decision making skills. Must be creative, think as an entrepreneur and be passionate about the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license, auto insurance at or above the minimum levels required by New Mexico law. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are req’d.

Interpersonal relationships and skills such as strong communications skills (written, verbal and listening) able to communicate clearly, concisely, and pleasantly with customers, strong decision-making skills based on sound analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated, able to provide direction in a positive and affirming manner, must possess tact and diplomacy.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities.

Compensation and Benefits:

$23-$25/hr ($47,840-$52,000 annually), plus $1k if bilingual (Spanish/English), plus benefits.

You will be eligible for benefits the first of the month following your 60 days of employment.

Position Summary:

The ReStore Truck Driver is responsible for driving the affiliates vehicles/trucks to pick up merchandise from donors, dropping off materials, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining the vehicle in a safe manner to support the activities of the Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore Truck Driver will report to the ReStore Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate affiliate vehicles in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of trucks interior and exterior (cab/daily; exterior/weekly).
  • Performing a daily operational check of all major items on vehicle to ensure the vehicle is safe to be on the road.
  • Regular maintenance checks to always ensure the readiness of truck and equipment, including reporting any maintenance concerns to supervisor.
  • Drive defensively and handle hazardous road conditions.
  • Load and unload goods onto the vehicle/truck either by hand, or by using appropriate or other material handling equipment.
  • Make sure that the load is correctly placed and secure with appropriate tie-downs to avoid damage to the truck or the goods.
  • Calculate and estimate the weight of loads to comply with load limits of vehicle and roadways.
  • Drive vehicles/trucks to their destination and unload by hand or using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Screen for product usability when picking up donations.
  • Provide guidance/direction to donors on how to access receipts from the website.
  • Maintain a logbook with details of trips, and maintenance.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, and ReStore customers.
  • Professional and courteous interaction with donors including utmost care and concern for donors’ personal property.
  • Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures or policies.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED, plus minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in truck driving, especially a box truck is a plus.

Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license, minimum NM Auto Insurance, and have daily access to a dependable motor vehicle due to extensive amount of driving required. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are req’d.
